ARTS IN CLASS

Our Arts In Class programme is designed to enrich school curriculums by integrating art sessions that complement and enhance students' learning experiences by introducing them to the work of professional artists.

What We Offer

  • Customised Sessions: We collaborate with schools to develop tailored sessions that align with the themes and subjects being studied. These  can contribute to both students' coursework or ongoing projects, providing a creative outlet that enhances their journey.

  • Expert Artists: Our programme features expert artists who are actively working in the field. These professionals bring real-world experience into the classroom, offering students a unique opportunity to engage with art in a practical, inspiring way.

  • First-Hand Career Insights: Students will have the chance to interact with working artists, asking questions and gaining insights into what it’s like to pursue a career in the arts. This interaction can be invaluable for those considering a future in creative fields.

Benefits

  • Enhanced Learning: By linking art with academic themes, students gain a deeper understanding of their subjects.

  • Skill Development: Students develop artistic skills and techniques, boosting their confidence and encouraging a love for the arts.

  • Career Goals: Interaction with professional artists provides students with inspiration and practical knowledge about careers in the creative industries.

How It Works

  1. Collaboration and Funding: Schools can either commission our services directly or collaborate with us to apply for funding. Once the budget is approved, we move to the planning phase.

  2. Planning: We work closely with teachers to design a session plan that integrates seamlessly with the school’s curriculum and meets educational goals.

  3. Implementation: Our artists deliver the sessions, bringing high-quality education and inspiring creativity among students.

"I am head of art from a west London school and connected with JK Arts to run a series of art sessions with the students. The sessions were truly inspiring and tailored towards the age group and ability! An experience the students won’t forget and get to take their amazing art home!"

"My class absolutely loved the art sessions they took part in. The activities were well planned, linked to other areas that we had studied this year, and exciting. The children were all fully engaged and felt proud of what they accomplished and being called “artists.” Even those who were reluctant to start with enjoyed the art and were pleased with what they made. The children learnt new skills, worked with a variety of materials and were encouraged to experiment with their own ideas. I can’t recommend JK Arts enough."

During this project we ran a series of sessions with classes in years 4, 5 & 6. The workshop was aimed at teaching the participants all about the British Values and how they can be represented in a school environment. They then choose one of the values and created a piece of art to reflect it. Each class was given a different style of art to work in ranging from pointillism, mosaics, graffiti and more.

The project ended with an exhibition where we showcased the collection of their work to the rest of the School.
